Setting up resources in Treatwell Pro allows you to manage the stations and equipment in your salon so that you can avoid receiving more simultaneous bookings than you have the tools to provide.

For example, if you have 8 team members who can provide pedicures, but only 4 pedicure chairs, setting up these chairs as a resource means that only 4 clients could book a pedicure service to take place at the same date and time.

The most popular resources that our partners add are pedicure chairs, nail bar stations and other specialist equipment such as laser hair removal machines or wax melters.

Resources shouldn't be confused with the rooms in your business, which can be set up separately.

How to create a resource

  1. In the main menu, go to "Resources".

  2. Click the "+" icon on the left, or "Create a new one" in the middle of the screen.

  3. Give the resource a name, e.g. 'Pedicure Chair'.

  4. Add a name abbreviation (you could use 'Ped' as an example in this case).

  5. In the "capacity" box, add the number of clients who can use the resource at the same time.

  6. Click "Create".

How to link a service to a resource

After the resource has been created, you'll need to state which services on your menu use that particular piece of equipment.

  1. Click the "+" button you see on the right, just under the colour coding options.

  2. Search for the service in the box that opens.

  3. Click the service to add it to the resource.

  4. Your changes will be automatically saved.

You’ll need to remember that if you assign a service to more than one resource, for example, a pedicure chair and UV nail light, when a client books that service both resources will be in use and no other clients can book either of the resources (whether separately or together). Similarly, the service will only be bookable if both resources are free.
